I was in NYC earlier in the Fall to film a video with Eric Barron and the gang at N2KTV, the video was a staging of a “Political Debate” with myself, Paul Zweben and Krisstina Wise (via Skype video) as the candidates. Rob Hahn and Eric Barron were our moderators. I know it was a fun shoot, and we all had a great time taking a variety of positions as to “Who should be President of Real Estate Social Media”.
I was reading your new advertising plan on promoted tweets, trends and accounts, interesting read in general, a little confusing and totally WTF!
So let me start with the big question, what are you thinking???
The whole twitter community is REALLY about engagement, interaction, and brands come to the space to humanize their corporate machines. What does that tell you about this space you have created (yes I worship at the shrine of Twitter I will admit), we have adopted it.
From free webinars, blog talk radio, websites, and much more to give you overviews and basic information to the membership based sites that provide you will truly substantial instruction that can result in incredible lead generation. Knowing where to find the tools and resources is half the battle.

We are a big family out here, and we need to start supporting our brothers and sisters, to work together to bring what we love to the rest of the industry, to educate and help them, to share our success and our failures so that they can find the success.
This is often lost in translation I think, so many agents think that social media is the holy grail, that it will solve all their problems in a tough market and down economy. It can help, it will gain you more exposure, but you still need to be the real estate expert. The consumer is online and looking for information, you want to be the one they find to provide it. So get out there and do it!
The nature of social media community is that of trust and a true spirit of togetherness, so when someone has a cause to promote people are more likely to embrace it and help push it forward toward the goal. You don’t have to be an “influencer” to effect change or promote a cause, you just need to be diligent in your efforts of pushing forward.
